ConstructSim Planner CONNECT Edition Update 5 Help

Schedule Data

ConstructSim Planner can import both Primavera and Microsoft Project schedule data. The most common use for this data is to simulate the Path of Construction activities at the Construction Work Area (CWA) or Construction Work Package (CWP) level. These CWA and CWP levels typically are associated with Level 3 and Level 4 schedule activities respectively. A Level 5 schedule activity usually is associated with a Field Installable Work Package (FIWP), and normally is not used for Path of Construction simulation. In order to import a schedule into ConstructSim Planner for use in planning Path of Construction sequences, the schedule must contain Activity IDs that are associable to objects (or object properties) within the VCM. After the schedule data has been successfully imported, the work planner can animate the Path of Construction based on the objects related to the Activity ID in the schedule. For example, if a Level 3 schedule has Activity IDs listed as CWP names, then the schedule can be imported and played back with very little effort assuming those CWPs are listed as object properties in the VCM. If the Activity IDs are a subset or a concatenated value of other properties, this can also be done through the Schedule configuration interface. Schedule Activity IDs can also be linked with User Defined Groups.
